SIOETC, as a member of the IMRF delegation, visited the UK JRCC and Bristow Search and Rescue Base.

As a member of the delegation from the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF), the SIOETC International Ocean Engineering Training Center visited the UK Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC UK) and Bristow Search and Rescue Helicopter Technical Base located in Fareham, UK today 🇬🇧.
At JRCC UK, the delegation learned about the nationwide aviation and maritime search-and-rescue coordination mechanism in the UK, as well as the crucial role of the Cospas–Sarsat Satellite Distress Signal Control Centre in global distress alerting and rapid response.1

Subsequently, the delegation proceeded to the Bristow Search and Rescue Helicopter Base, where they gained in-depth insights into the implementation of the UK Second-Generation SAR Aviation Programme. They also observed on-site demonstrations of advanced search and rescue helicopters and airborne medical equipment, including the application of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation systems. 🚁

This visit fully demonstrated the UK's outstanding experience in search and rescue system development, technological innovation, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. It also brought new insights to SIOETC in advancing maritime safety training, emergency response, and international cooperation.
