SIOETC Actively Engages in Global Maritime Rescue Cooperation and Discussions on Future Development
The 2025 Annual Conference of the IMRF (International Maritime Rescue Federation) concluded successfully in the UK this week. Over 100 representatives from maritime rescue organizations across dozens of countries worldwide gathered to conduct in-depth exchanges on topics including FutureSAR, technological innovation, cross-border collaboration, and emerging challenges posed by climate change.

This conference was hosted by the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) of the UK. Delegates jointly visited the RNLI's historical exhibition area and rescue boat stations, gaining an in-depth understanding of the accumulation of this 200-year-old institution in terms of equipment, training, and community safety culture. Participants also held discussions on topics such as drone rescue technology, rescue operations under extreme weather, and the upgrading of emergency communication systems.
As a member of the IMRF working group, SIOETC (International Ocean Engineering Training Center) actively participated in the conference exchanges and shared insights on the cultivation of maritime rescue talents, the construction of professional training systems, and the cooperation potential between China and the UK in the emergency response field. SIOETC also conducted further communications with a number of international rescue and maritime organizations, laying a solid foundation for future exchange programs.
The conference concluded in an open, professional, and cooperative atmosphere. Delegates from various countries took group photos as a memento and jointly expressed their expectation to continue strengthening international collaboration in future maritime rescue work and work together to enhance the global level of maritime life safety.
